This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of master data (Customer, Material, Vendor, Financial), supporting SAP upgrades and migrations, and helping define and enforce data quality standards. You’ll also collaborate with IT on integration between SAP and non-SAP systems, contribute to compliance efforts, and play a key role in promoting a culture of data ownership and accountability.

Master Data Management & SAP Execution
- Create, maintain, and update master data such as Customer and Material Master data in SAP across various sales organisations and plants.
- Manage product-related records, including BoMs, Routings, cost roll-ups, billing outputs, and contact data
- Support data readiness during SAP upgrades, migrations, and system changes
- Monitor product lifecycle statuses, including obsolescence and supersession workflows
- Maintain data dictionaries and SAP-specific documentation
Data Quality & Governance
- Define and apply data validation rules, cleansing routines, and error-handling processes
- Conduct profiling and audits to assess the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of core datasets
- Work with business teams to identify recurring issues and drive permanent fixes
- Contribute to the rollout of governance frameworks, standards, and ownership models
- Maintain clear documentation of data lineage, ownership, and usage policies
Cross-Platform Data Integration
- Coordinate data exchanges between SAP and non-SAP systems (CRM, WMS, BI tools)
- Support middleware and API-based integrations to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Collaborate with IT and business on ETL processes and cross-system mappings
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a key liaison between business functions and IT for all data-related matters
- Provide training, guidance, and support for data entry, maintenance, and best practices
- Assist project teams with data requirements, structures, and reporting impacts
- Communicate data policies clearly to promote consistency and accountability
Data Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA)
- Document processes, ownership roles, and standard operating procedures
- Support internal and external audit requirements with accurate and up-to-date records
- Help maintain access control and assist with data security initiatives
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Data Steward to support our EMEA data governance efforts, with a strong focus on SAP systems and cross-platform data integration. You’ll work closely with business and technical teams to manage large, complex datasets and help improve how data is structured, maintained, and used across the organisation.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- 3–5 years of experience in data management, governance, or business systems roles
- Strong working knowledge of SAP modules (FI/CO, MM, SD)
- Practical experience managing Customer and Material Master data
- Experience with SAP upgrades or migrations and understanding their data implications
- Familiarity with data profiling, cleansing, and validation tools and techniques
- Understanding of data lifecycle, governance frameworks, and metadata management
- Confident user of Excel, SQL, and relevant data analysis tools
- Clear communicator with good documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable
- SAP certification in relevant modules or exposure to SAP MDG, S/4HANA, BW
- Experience with integration platforms
- Knowledge of BI platforms (e.g. Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau)
- Awareness of data privacy and security standards
- Experience in a matrixed or international business environment
