About FutureHouse

FutureHouse is a non-profit AI research lab building an AI Scientist to automate research in biology and other complex sciences. We're seeking exceptional biologists at all levels—from junior wet lab technicians to PhD researchers with high-impact publications to veteran drug discovery scientists—who are passionate about leveraging our agents to drive breakthrough discoveries in biology.

We are interested in applicants with a range of levels of experience. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. If you are primarily interested in making new individual discoveries in biology, you should apply to this role; if you are primarily interested in generally automating the process of computational biology, you should apply to the computational biologist role. You can also apply to both.

This position is full-time in-person in San Francisco.

Responsibilities:

Candidates who join us in this role should expect to participate in a variety of research projects, including:

• Designing AI scientists that are better than humans at generating hypotheses and making discoveries.
• Evaluating the performance of our AI scientists against the performance of human researchers.
• Using our AI scientists to make new discoveries, and then validating those discoveries in the wet lab.

Requirements:

• Experience with wet lab biology research. We are especially interested in candidates with a diversity of experience, for example spanning molecular biology, synthetic biology, cellular biology, and animal work.
