Job Description

This leader will be providing some patient facing care, and must have at least 3 years of RN practice experience to be considered for an interview. Some Ambulatory RN experience is preferred but not required.

Under the general supervision of the Division/Site Patient Care Operations Manager (PCOM), the Ambulatory Clinical Nurse Leader RN (ACNL), assists in overseeing the duties and responsibilities for the Registered Nurses, (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (C NAs), Medical Assistants (Mas), Patient Service Representatives (PSR). The Ambulatory Clinical Nurse Leader RN promotes and facilitates optimal care through clinical, administrative, professional, educational, and quality improvement activities. The position actively supports the Hospital's and the department's Continuous Quality improvement and Customer Service goals through modeling of Lurie Children’s Service Principles, actively participating in High Reliability initiatives, and providing a work environment conducive to attaining these goals.

 

    Job Duties:

    • Resource person to work in conjunction with the Manager/Director to provide leadership, and coordination for all activities assigned, including but not limited to daily staffing, staff development, training and education, performance assessment, and team building. 
    • Provides professional development, feedback, mentoring and coaching to staff as needed.
    • Ability to identify the needs of the Practice, identify problems and in collaboration with the PCOM explore alternatives and implement solutions. 
    • Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure a smooth workflow throughout the Practice.
    • Facilitate the use of quality management principles and performance improvement tools to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in clinical care.  
    • Provides direct patient care while maintaining high standards of quality care and patient safety as assigned by PCOM.
    • Maintains the facility and its equipment to assure that the physical and mechanical operations as well as inventory of supplies, medications, and immunizations meet the requirements of patient safety, regulatory compliance and satisfaction of patients, families, and staff.
    • Participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of customer services standards and evaluation of performance improvement for the department and of various systems. 
    • Collaborates with PCOM in interfacing with other Medical Center departments in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating system changes or enhancement, providing for the delivery of consumer-oriented patient care.
    • Other job functions as assigned.
       

    K.S.A.'s:

    • Minimum education required to perform the job: bachelor’s degree in nursing.  
    • BLS Certification Required.
    • Current licensure and/or certification as a registered nurse qualified to practice in the State of Illinois required.
    • Minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare setting. 
    • Must possess exceptional organization, communication, problem-solving and system improvement skills.  
    • Computer skills, including Microsoft office preferred. 
    • Ability to think proactively, creatively and take initiative to address issues.  Demonstrates excellent communication, critical-thinking, and interpersonal skills.  Demonstrates ability to work as part of multiple teams.  Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.  
    • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers, and others. 
    • Ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities. 
    • Ability to meet agreed upon deadlines.

    Pay Range

    $83,200.00-$137,280.00 Salary
