Trade Assistant

Reporting into the Workshop Supervisor, the Trade Assistant will join our New Machines Team on a Full-Time basis at our Guildford site. The Trade Assistant will be assisting with the building and testing of the latest Caterpillar equipment, ensuring all machinery meets our high standards of quality and performance.

The New Machines Department at WesTrac specializes in providing cutting-edge machinery solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the mining industry. Our team is dedicated to delivering innovative, reliable, and efficient Caterpillar equipment to enhance operational productivity and safety.

 Roster: Monday to Friday. 10.5 hours (including a meal break)

 What You’ll Do: 

• Assist with building and testing the latest Caterpillar Equipment ensuring it meets our quality and performance standards
• Working alongside team members to manage and complete high volume tasks efficiently
• Promote, encourage and monitor safety to a high standard

 Skills & Experience: 

• Experience in a similar role or a certificate 2 in a similar field.
• Exposure to mining / construction equipment or other industrial areas such as agriculture or highway trucks, hire equipment is highly considered
• CAT equipment experience is highly desirable
• Ability to understand troubleshooting and assist resolving mechanical problems efficiently
• Ability to work with various types of machinery and adapt to new technologies and methods
• Precision in assisting assembling, testing, and maintaining equipment to ensure safety and performance standards are met
